Thank you for visiting my online shop. My name is Eilíse and I am a Monaghan cailín who has made Donegal her home for the past 13 years.

I graduated from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in 2008 and specialised in fine art painting, and through teaching, I fell in love with printing again. 

Most of my work and all my greeting cards start off as sketches which are then drawn onto Linoleum and carved out. Special ink is rolled on top to produce hand printed designs. As a result, no two prints are the same.  It is a process that takes time and patience. Everything is sourced from Irish suppliers, keeping it local at a time when it has never been more important.

The name 'Girseach' is inspired by my lovely Granny who was from Teileann. Hence my love of all things Donegal! She was the sister of the famous Irish folklorist Séan O hEochaidh and we grew up listening to the most amazing old Irish stories. She would fondly exclaim 'Ah Girseach' when I would visit and it just felt right to keep her spirit alive in my work.
